Previewing Prices for 2017 NCAA Tournament Tickets: South Region
March 14, 2017
The Road to the Final Four starts on Thursday, March 16. In the South region, the top-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels are seeking revenge after last season’s last-second Championship Game loss to Villanova, and they appear to at least have an easy journey in the beginning in hopes of escaping their portion of the bracket.
The Tar Heels will start their Final Four trek in Greenville, South Carolina at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena. Due to being in close proximity, UNC should draw a massive fan turnout, so ticket prices have skyrocketed in this region. In fact, on TicketIQ, South Region NCAA Tournament tickets in this portion of the bracket are generating heavy demand, with prices starting at $131 for all three games.
The winner of the Greenville sub-region will face the winner of the Milwaukee sub-region, which features matchups between No. 5 Minnesota and No. 12 Middle Tennessee State, and No. 4 Butler and No. 13 Winthrop. Ticket prices for these games begin at $51 on TicketIQ, which is the cheapest sub-region prices from the South.

On the bottom side of the South region, the Indianapolis portion contains three intriguing match-ups. No. 2 Kentucky, who could be North Carolina’s biggest roadblock in getting back to the title game, will battle No. 15 Northern Kentucky at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Kentucky will likely play the winner of No. 7 Dayton and No. 10 Wichita State. These games are intriguing and could result in an early-round upset.
Ticket prices for the Indianapolis sub-region start at $129, which is the second-lowest sub-region ticket price. Whoever emerges from there will play the winner of the Sacramento sub-region in the Sweet 16. The Sacramento sub-region features action between No. 3 UCLA and No. 14 Kent State, as well as No. 6 Cincinnati facing off with a No. 11 seed that will be determined from the play-in game. Ticket prices for this sub-region start at $73, the second-cheapest sub-region price in the South.
