The Mariners jumped out to a very impressive start that included Ichiro Suzuki’s final Major League Baseball game. Seattle not only swept the Athletics in Tokyo, but they also took three of four games from the defending champion Red Sox and swept a four-game series from the Royals. However, Scott Servais’ squad has struggled since starting the season 13-2. The Mariners suffered several losing streaks and are in danger of falling out of the American League West divisional race. On the bright side, the wild card is in striking distance for Seattle.
The Mariners giveaways calendar for the rest of 2019 includes a great variety of promotions, including a Ken Griffey Jr. rookie bobblehead, Lou Piniella Hawaiian shirt and Rick Rizzs’ talking bottle opener. In addition, 2019 Hall of Famer inductee Edgar Martinez will be celebrated on five different nights. His bobblehead night will be on August 9 and replica plaque will be given out on August 10. Also, the fireworks nights, five of which can be found on Fridays, are May 31, July 3 (Wednesday), July 26, August 23, September 13 and September 27.
