Show Details & Reviews
Because this is an improvisational show, no two performances are alike. Performers take suggestions from the audience and turn those suggestions into anything from short skits to full-blown musical numbers.
Show creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, Christopher Jackson, Daveed Diggs, and James Monroe Iglehart have all made unexpected guest appearances.
The show opened to rave reviews across the industry. New York Times critic Ben Brantley calls the show “an exultant master course in the fine art of hip-hop” and a “blissful achievement.”
The Hollywood Reporter’s Frank Scheck was equally as effusive, “this inventive, fast-paced show doesn't need ringers to be wildly entertaining," he wrote. “If you've ever marveled at the cleverness of an improvisational comedy troupe, you'll be even more amazed that Freestyle Love Supreme manages to infuse their bits with music, rapping, sound effects and percussion.”
